This page for the foreseeable future is going to serve as a dumping grounds for myself a, very jaded, MMO veteran. I think it is important to be vocal on issues concerning MMO-vets as we are very quickly becoming less and less the target audience for our media of choice. The majority of the current generation MMO’s are merely a re-juxtaposition of older MMO design and while this is perfectly fine for the emerging market, for us, it’s lackluster to see the same mechanics spit out at us yet again. The lack of innovation is almost palpable. As far as I can see it, there are two main factors contributing this. Firstly, and most predominately, the sheepishness of venture capital to take any risk on untested grounds. Secondly, a genuine disconnect between the players and the individuals responsible for designing the next generation MMOs. This blog is, beyond a depository of my mad ravings, a shot at showing the developers and venture capitalists that there very much live markets for original content.
